This workout is how you make that gorgeous V shape happen. Tony Horton alternates between back and biceps, torturing each group equally. From Zip Kip Iso Chin-Ups for your back to Flip Grip Arm Curls, you’re in for a monster pump.
Plus, with this month’s P90X One on One, you get a FREE door attachment. It works with any doorjamb so you can crank out ONE on ONE workouts anywhere. Not sure how to use it? At the start of the DVD, there is a brief tutorial on how to attach the free door attachment.
With P90X V Sculpt, you are in for 56 minutes of an intense back and biceps workout.
These workouts are selected from two hats – one for back and the other for biceps – filled with folded pieces of paper with an exercise written on each one. Tony reaches in and pulls out an exercise so he never knows exactly what comes next! The first exercise out of the hat is Zip Kip ISO Chinups for back. Next up is one out of the bicep hat! Alternating Squatting Concentration Curls – 12 per side for a grand total of 24 reps.
When we get to Band Mower back, that’s our first encounter with the FREE door attachment! You’ll need it with a resistance band to do a really tough back exercise. This door jamming exercise is tough and works your back and deltoids very nicely! Even Tony Horton struggles with this one.
If that’s not hard enough, next is Supine Band Curls for biceps. This exercise uses the resistance bands on a fixed pullup bar or a high hinge on the door jam. That’s right, lying down, do those bicep curls. It’s another tough, concentrated bicep that is sure to explode your biceps.
And if that were not enough, next up is Pullup X and Flip Grip Arm Curls. You can easily get a double workout on your biceps and forearms by changing the angle of the exercise.
V Row is another great back exercise. I was feeling that one the next day!
Although you had mostly dumbbells in P90X, much of the workout is done with a pullup bar or resistance bands with a few dumbbells thrown in.
The halfway point is the perfect time for Down the Rack – it’s downright cruel! Choose three different size dumbbell weights and do a set with each one. Yes, one right after the other! Ouch! Tony uses dumbbells weights of 40, 35, and 30! My weights are much less!
It’s TOUGH my friends! This nightmare workout trashes your biceps and then goes straight to pull-ups. But that’s how the V-shape happens! Want one? Get this workout and rotate it into your regular workout routine!
