Do you love the Autumn season as much as I do? Not only is it a beautiful time of year, with changing colors and seasonal treats, but the weather is crisp but not too cold to be outside.
Fall is the best season for fitness! As the summer winds down, in many places the humidity is too much to bear for being outdoors. I went for a quick run and was drenched in sweat! No fun!
Fall brings with it a relief from the heat and the desire to be outdoors in the fresh air with crunchy leaves to run through.
Winter has its own beauty but having to bundle up in layers of clothing to go outdoors is not always fun!
Here’s my favorite reasons why Autumn is the best fitness season!
1 – There are less people at the gym
As people get into holiday season mode, they turn their attention to other things that don’t include the gym! It’s the best time of year to not have to wait in line for exercise machines and weights.
You can usually expect the dedicated few to always show up at the gym no matter what! Everyone else waits again until January!
Take advantage of the low volume of people at the gym during the beautiful Fall season.
2 – You don’t sweat as much
Seriously, this summer, even a power walk had me drenched in sweat! My clothing was soaked and gross; and I felt like I was overheating.
I drink tons of water year round but in the heat of the summers, I lose so much through sweating that I have to drink much more than usual.
I even put my hikes on hiatus during the humid summers!
Autumn is refreshing and a great time to get back to outdoor activities like hiking, running, biking, and walking. Exercising outdoors on a crisp, cool day will also keep your body temperature from overheating.
The great thing about Autumn is that you can get a great head start of fitness activities and keep that momentum going as winter bears down!
3 – Abundance of healthy Fall foods
So much produce is seasonal and Fall brings with it some yummy food to dig into. No need to stop shopping the produce section. Autumn brings us healthy fruits and vegetables that taste amazing so you can keep your healthy eating habits.
You’ll gain nutritional benefits that won’t be harsh on your pocketbook! Check out the yummy produce of the Fall season:

4 – Fitness at Home
All year-long, you can always get fit at home! I love using the home fitness programs no matter what time of year.
Working out at home is extremely effective and gets the job done faster than at the gym. I love it because it’s convenient. You don’t have to get in you car to go workout.
You can exercise any time you want! Just stream a fitness video!
You can have access to just about any activity level of fitness and type of exercise. I enjoy doing Yoga before bed for relaxation. I can’t imagine going out to a yoga studio at that time!
Home workouts cost less than the gym. At just $99 per year with access to hundreds of workouts, I would say it’s a bargain!
It’s also a great way to supplement those Fall outdoor activities!
Conclusion
Fall is my favorite season for fitness. It’s nice to enjoy the colorful great outdoors on a cool crisp day!
With shorter days, you may not always have the opportunity to get outside, especially in the late afternoon or early evening.
