Barre Blend is the newest workout from Beachbody. Created by expert trainer Elise Joan, Barre Blend aims to help you create a lean, toned body through a fun fusion of ballet barre, Pilates, and cardio interval training.
With such an inviting description, I couldn’t wait to give it a try. In this Barre Blend review, I’ll share my experience and thoughts about the fitness program.
What is Barre Blend?
Before I get into my workout review, let’s talk about what’s included with Barre Blend and availability:Barre Blend is an 8-week workout and includes 43 workouts. Each workout is about 30 to 40 minutes, 5 days a week.

Barre Blend Workout Review
I did the Barre Blend sample workout. I was a bit skeptical since I am used to doing high intensity workouts and also a runner. I wasn’t sure I could get a workout that would make a difference.
Wow, was I wrong!
The sample workout gives you a great introduction to the type of moves you can expect in this powerful fitness program.
You’ll need a sturdy chair or ballet barre and a set of light weights (1 to 5 pounds.) I used a chair and it worked out great!
Elise is a fabulous fitness trainer. She moves so beautifully, something I can only hope to aspire to!
There are various cast members that she introduces who perform the moves at different levels so you can participate at the level that’s right for you.
Believe me, you’ll get a great workout regardless of the level you’re at!
What I love about Barre Blend is there are no breaks. Elise just keeps you moving the entire time. That is far better for me over fitness programs where the trainer has many breaks and I feel like I am not getting a great workout.
It’s a low-impact, easy-to-follow workout but intense at the same time. The first ten minutes or so, include a warmup that doesn’t involve a “bar.” Elise takes you through unique mobility moves that also focus on your core.
As the program progresses, you will use your “bar” at times. Again, you can craft your workout at the level that works well for you.
Although I exercise on a regular basis, the moves in Barre Blend really challenged me. These moves helped to open my hips. I can see how, over time, mobility through my hips would improve. A definite plus!
It’s a full body workout so not only do you get great lower body movement, your arms get a nice workout too. I decided not to use dumbbells. I went through the moves without weights and still felt it to be challenging!
If you find yourself sitting a lot for your job, Barre Blend is a fantastic way to open and stretch those joints that stay in the same position all day.
My shoulder joints really opened up and felt fantastic when I was done.
