Why I Love 80 Day Obsession Workout

June 5, 2018 By Coach Lisa

When 80 day Obsession workout was released, I had no intention of doing the fitness program. At that time I felt like 80 days was too much of a commitment.

I was working out on a regular basis, sticking with the 30-minute workouts in Beachbody On Demand.

Then, one day I noticed some weight creeping on my small frame. It was about 4 pounds that I didn’t need and was causing my pants to not fit correctly.

That is when I decided to commit to 80 Day Obsession workout. I was determined to drop 3 or 4 pounds and tighten up my problem areas.

I have to admit, at first the thought of one-hour workouts was daunting. Now that I completed Phase one (about one month) of 80 Day Obsession, I realize it wasn’t so bad and I am getting the results I was after!

It’s pretty amazing, seriously!

My Preparation for 80 Day Obsession

I am a very fit person so I wasn’t too worried about jumping into 80 Day Obsession. Even so, I decided to start with a workout called, A Little Obsessed.

It’s like a 5-day introduction to the exercises in 80 Day Obsession so I knew what I was in for.

I also unfortunately strained a rib muscle a few days before I started so I had to modify a few exercises. It’s since healed and by modifying, I didn’t cause any further strain to the muscle.

Believe it or not, I didn’t have the Strength Slides or Resistance Loops but I decided to proceed anyway to see if I would get results without them.

I made sure I had at least 2 sets of hand weights, heavy and light. I wasn’t able to use the heavier weights until my rib muscle sprain healed (about 3 weeks).

With all these so-called modifications I made to 80 Day Obsession, I still got results!

80 Day Obsession Phase 1 Review

One of the things I love about 80 Day Obsession is that each workout day is a new video. It’s not a previous video that is shown again.

The same exercises are repeated from week to week but the number of sets and repetition changes.

For example, on Day One Total Body Core, you do 2 sets of 15 reps. The same workout on Day 8 is done in 3 sets of 10 reps.

Here’s a schedule of the first 2 weeks of 80 Day Obsession so you can see how the sets and reps differ.

first 2 weeks 80 day obsession schedule

Note: Don’t let the Cardio Flow fool you! It says 4 reps but it’s tough. You do moves that build on each other. Each time you start with the first move. It’s a challenge but a good one.

So you definitely get a different workout each time with 80 Day Obsession!

All the workouts are about 30 to 60 minutes. As I mentioned, the thought of exercising for a full 60 minutes was a turn off at first.

But Amber Calabrese makes the workout fun and motivating so I didn’t mind at all. The time passed quickly and I got the job done.

Thankfully there is a modifier that I followed for many of the exercises. My injured muscle just wasn’t having it so I had to be careful.

Even if you follow the 80 Day Obsession modifier, you will get an amazing workout!

I also didn’t have the Resistance Loops. I just did the moves without them, I still got an great workout!

Seriously, I was so amazed at how 80 Day Obsession was reshaping parts of my body. Most noticeable was my waist. By the end of 80 Day Phase One, my waist was about one inch smaller. It goes in on the sides now!

My legs are also more defined as are my upper arms.

Overall I am happy with the results of 80 Day Obsession fitness program and highly recommend it.

The key to success is to stick with it no matter what.

It’s extremely hot during summer where I live. Even with the air conditioner on it’s hot due to the humidity.

So… I got up extra early to complete the workouts. No EXCUSES here.

What about 80 Day Obsession Eating Plan?

I’ll be honest. I didn’t follow the 80 Day Obsession nutrition plan. I already eat very healthy. I simply cut a few of the extra carbs that I was snacking on.

At the end of the first month, indeed, I lost 4 pounds and leaned out in many areas.

I’m happy!

Conclusion

I highly recommend 80 Day Obsession workout whether you want to lose weight, get leaner or just improve your fitness level.

There is enough variation in the workouts to stay interested and energized. Amber is an excellent instructor and she shows you the details of every move.

I recently started 80 Day Obsession Phase 2 and loving it! Can’t wait to see my results.
