Working Out with Medicine Balls – P90X One on One

A medicine ball is a weighted exercise ball about 14 inches around and between 2 and 25 pounds. Working out with medicine balls is an effective method for anyone looking to lose weight, excel in sports, or for general fitness.

The latest P90X One on One workout DVD, Chest, Back, and Balls, uses medicine ball exercises that focus on your upper body and core. Each intense exercise requires coordination, strength, and is challenging for even the advanced fitness buff.

You can use weighted medicine balls for many strength and conditioning exercises like throwing and various full body exercises. Medicine balls are also effective for making push-ups more challenging and help your stabilizing muscles work harder.

In this P90X One on One workout, Tony Horton struggles through some of these push up routines. While regular push ups strengthen your arms, shoulders, and chest, adding a medicine ball takes this workout to the next level. The “Chest, Back, and Balls” workout engages all your muscles with pushups performed balancing on 4 medicine balls. Can you do it? I could not! You can always modify the exercises by starting out by balancing on 1 or 2 medicine balls and working your way up to 4.

This P90X One on One medicine ball workout is designed to improve your muscular power – if you can get through the grueling 60 minutes of medicine ball pushups and upper body strength conditioning on a  pullup bar.

Although Tony Hortons performs these exercises at the most advanced level, when P90X MC2 is released, these exercises will be performed with additional modification options for you to choose from.
