As a P90Xer, switching to TurboFire was a new challenge! You can read my review of TurboFire. After 5 weeks of TurboFire, my cardio improved and I definitely turned up the burn. So much in fact that I needed to back off! I don’t need to lose weight but when doing TurboFire and drinking Shakeology 6 days a week, the weight just came off without really trying. When the size 0 pants are getting loose it’s time to do something different!
I decided to start a hybrid and add in 2 to 3 days of upper body P90X weight training to give me a little more muscle bulking and add a few pounds.
The best TurboFire cardio workouts were the HIIT routines. These really got my heart rate going and boost my metabolism the most. My legs got nicely toned from all the jumping around too!
The TurboFire and P90X hybrid schedule I am going with is not too strict and allows me to change things up every couple of weeks.
- 2 days per week I’ll do a TurboFire HIIT 20 or 30 workout. Following the HIIT workout will be switching between Ab Ripper X and TurboFire Abs 10 class. The HIIT 30 and Abs 10 classes are only available with the advanced classes package.
- 1 day per week I’ll do the TurboFire Fire 45 class, another great cardio conditioning workout.
- 2 days per week I’ll switch off with P90X Chest and Back and P90X Shoulders and Arms (and throw in a One on One Diamond Delts every other week).
- 1 day per week will switch off between P90X One on One Yoga Fountain of Youth and TurboFire Stretch 40 class. (Yoga Fountain of Youth is 40 minutes vs. 90 minutes of Yoga X and just as effective.)
That’s my P90X and TurboFire hybrid workout plan and I am sticking to it! It’s a great combination to get intense cardio conditioning and the upper body muscle strength that I crave!
