Received the latest P90X One on One Shoulders and Arms MC2 DVD and couldn’t wait to try it out! This workout is 57 minutes of fitness for the glamour muscles, the shoulders and arms! I was totally pumped and exhausted by the end of the workout!
Tony Horton, your expert trainer, starts out with a brief shoulders and arms warmup that includes large and small arm circles, shoulder rolls, and hand stretches. At the start of this One on One workout, Tony talks alot! He could have cut down on the talking in the beginning but aside from that, the workout is great!
P90X One on One Shoulders and Arms is a power workout! You’ll also need the following equipment:
- Dumbbells
- Powerstands (optional)
- Resistance bands (optional)
- Stability ball (optional)
In this P90X One on One routine, you’ll do 4 rounds of exercises. Each round consists of 2 exercises that you do 3 times. Then you move on to the next round of 2 exercises that you do 3 times. In total, you’ll end up doing 24 arms and shoulder exercises! Tony Horton gives great advice on form and how to get the most out of each exercise.
The Shoulder and Arms MC2 workout gives you a well rounded approach that focuses on all aspects of the muscles groups. You start out with the popular pike presses and go on to exercises like alternating Arnold presses, 6 direction shoulder flys, and crazy eights!
Arnold presses really hit the anterior (front) delts with a little upper pecs action. This is balanced nicely with bent over rear delt flys. Nicely developed rear delts will help keep your shoulders balanced and are great way to prevent shoulder injuries.
Wondering why you might need a stability ball? With Tony’s tricep extensions on a stability ball, you not only work your triceps but you’ll feel it in your hip flexors and a subtle core workout too! Tony gets more then just the triceps working.
The P90X One on One Shoulders and Arms workout winds down with a well deserved stretch.
Like I said at the start, I was so pumped after this One on One workout! I plan to incorporate it into my weekly P90X workout routine. It’s a keeper and well worth it. My arms feel like they had a great workout and I can’t wait to do this shoulders and arms routine again!
