There are many facets to living a fit life. To keep it simple, here are 5 of my favorite tips to live a fitness lifestyle.
1 – Set Goals that you can Achieve
Before you even start with your fitness lifestyle plan, it’s important to set achievable goals. Sometimes people set their goals to high and end up quitting altogether.
Look at things like the amount of time you have available and what is realistic. For example if you want to be runner and your 3 month goal is to run a marathon, that might not be achievable in such a short time.
On the other hand, a 5K race is more doable in that period of time if you train consistently.
Your goals might be to tone your arms, lose a few pounds or flatten your abs. Whatever they may be, take time to write them down and ask yourself what you can accomplish given your life schedule.
2 – Stop Eating Fast Food and Junk Food
What does fast food have to do with fitness? The more you eat, the more you want.
With an overload of sugar and processed calories, the nutritional value is too low to sustain a healthy energy. When you eat too much fast food and junk food, your biggest achievement might be hanging out on the couch!
Finding the energy to do even a short workout can easily become overwhelming. If you want to live that healthy and fit lifestyle, start cutting out the fast food and junk food.
They are not even remotely good for your body or well-being!
3 – Keep Your Workouts Fun and Fresh
Do you get bored doing your workout routine? Maybe you are in your comfort zone and need to get out of it.
Another byproduct of doing the same workout routine day in and day out is that your body gets too used it. This can lead to plateaus where you don’t see much or any more progress at all.
That’s when you are tempted to just quit all this! Don’t quit!
Just change up your routine. One thing I love about Beachbody On Demand home workouts is there are hundreds of workouts to choose from.
I can follow a particular program and get fresh new workouts daily or I can switch it up between various fitness programs.
It’s as easy as stream and click! Then you have to do the work!
You can also do a ton of outdoor activities, weather permitting. I have joined a number of hiking groups in my area. We have a great time hiking through some of the most beautiful places while enjoying great conversation with like-minded people.
Either way, you have lots of options to keep your workouts fresh and fun.
4 – Do More Walking
I love walking. I am blessed to live within walking distance to a grocery store. I often walk there to pick up a few things.
When my kids were young, we would do a family walk after dinner. It was a nice slo-mo walk where we would converse about the day and enjoy the early evening air.
Even if you drive to a store, just park at the far end of the lot so you can get some walking in.
Why? It’s good for your health, your heart and your mind.
5 – Do Short but Intense Workouts
I know that not everyone has time for an hour of fitness. Did you know that you can get an amazing workout done in under 30 minutes?
You’ll work hard but it’s a blessing when you are short on time.
I’ve been doing 30 minutes home workouts for a few years and am in the best shape ever!
