Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit Review

July 29, 2010 By Coach Lisa

Plyometric Cardio Circuit workout is one of the DVDs included in Shaun T’s Insanity fitness program. Starting on Day 2, these explosive cardio interval moves are designed to burn the fat off your body!

The warm up and stretch is the most important part of this 40 minute Insanity workout. Running in place, jumping jacks, Heisman, and butt kicks are just a few of the exercises included in this 10 minute warmup. Shaun keeps you moving without a break and when you push through all the moves, you do them all again, just faster at increased cardio intensity! Before you even start the “real” Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit, you will feel like you did a workout!

You repeat the sequence of 7 movements for a total of 3 times, picking up speed! It’s a great warmup that gets your blood pumping and prepares you for the best cardio you will get in your life!

After an Insanity warmup that can only be described as insane, Shaun T. instructs you through a 7-minute stretch routine. There is a brief water break before you start an intense stretching session that incorporates some familiar yoga moves. Keeping your core tight on each stretch, this stretch is effective for peak performance once you begin the Plyometric cardio circuit interval training.

You are preparing for the next 20 minutes of quick movements that involve speed and agility. You may think 20 minutes is not a lot of time, but believe me, Insanity Plyo Circuit is intense! The Interval Training, your heart rate will shoot up and then come back down.

Shaun starts you off with Suicide Drills, reminding you that it’s all about speed! You move onto intense Insanity moves like Power Squats and Mountain Climbers. Round 1 of Plyometric Cardio Circuit includes 4 exercises, performed for 30 seconds each. Shaun T. continually reminds you to push through as you repeat the sequence 3 times, just faster!

Form is important as you dig deeper to complete this workout! The Insanity exercises are a mixture of standing, jumping, pushups and other insane combinations.

You may be very happy when the workout is finally over! Shaun cools you down with a nice stretch.
Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit is a challenging and effective workout that can burn some major calories and fat!
