  1. Stand with feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, arms at sides, toes turned out.
  2. Tuck tailbone under and contract glutes.
  3. Lower body into a pli? squat as low as you can go without allowing knees to creep past toes.
  4. Simultaneously raise arms to shoulder height in front of body, palms down. Hold for 2 seconds, then return to starting position.
  5. After 20 reps, pulse at the bottom for 20 seconds

Touchdown

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointed forward.
  2. Squat down until knees are bent 90 degrees.
  3. Squat down until knees are bent 90 degrees.
  4. Step left leg back into a deep reverse lunge, placing right hand along outside of right thigh or touching the floor.
  5. Raise left hand in front of face, palm facing out.
  6. Return to starting position and repeat, alternating sides.

Explosive Lunge

  1. Lunge forward with left leg until knee is bent 90 degrees, directly over ankle, right knee pointing toward floor.
  2. Jump up, pushing off the floor with both feet. Switch legs in midair, landing with right foot forward in a lunge. Continue, alternating sides.

Single-Leg Squat with Towel

  1. Stand with feet together, toes pointed forward, arms at sides with right foot on top of a small folded towel.
  2. Shifting weight to left leg, bend left knee 45 to 90 degrees while sliding right leg and towel slowly out to the side as far as is comfortable for a count of 4.
  3. Slowly draw right leg back to start for a count of 4 while straightening left leg.
  4. Repeat for 30 seconds; switch sides.

Squat with Kick-Back

  1. Stand with legs shoulder-width apart, arms at sides.
  2. Sit back into a squat keeping weight on heels, then lift right leg straight behind you, keepinghips pointing forward while extending arms.
  3. Return to start and switch sides.

I get lots of email from people who complain because they do fitness programs like P90X, Insanity, ChaLEAN Extreme and more, but don’t seem to get results. I always ask that fitness defining question: are you following the nutrition plan that came with your Beachbody fitness program? Usually the answer is NO!  Let me tell you that if you want a better, slimmer body, you need good food in your body. You need to clear out all the junk food in your kitchen to help you avoid all temptation. Working out alone is NOT going to get you the body you want. Eating right and exercise go hand in hand.

If you want that flat stomach or 6-packs abs you must eat right. If you ignore this one simple rule then you are not taking the time to reach your fitness goal.

Start by taking a look deep inside your refrigerator. Most people don’t even know what’s in the fridge! Clean out that fridge and reorganize it. Next, move on to your pantry and hit up your “treat” drawer. It has to go!

bad carbohyrate foodsIf your food is made of “bad” foods, then get rid of it and start over. Bad foods include many different types of refined processed carbohydrates like white flours found in white bread. You may also be surprised to learn that high fructose corn syrup is found in sodas, cereals, oatmeals, candy bars, salad dressing, crackers and much more.
Refined carbohydrates cause your blood sugar level to spike giving you a rush of energy. Then of course you crash! It is this process that can cause you to gain weight!
good carbohydrate foodsOn the other hand, unrefined or non-processed carbohydrates such as whole wheat bread, wheat crackers and shredded wheat provide you with more nutritional content. These “good” carbohydrates provide a constant stream of energy helping maintain energy levels and avoiding weight gain. Don’t forget about your veggies and lean meats!

Also, get in the habit of reading food labels, look at the calories and the ingredients of all the food you buy! You would be surprised at the ingredients of many of the food you buy!

There is no miracle cure to get in great shape. Getting fit takes hard work – you need to eat healthy and exercise. You may think that new diet fads and crazy machines are the quick way to looking good but these “quick fixes” hardly ever work and don’t give lasting results.

Body fat testerWhen you start any fitness program, it’s important for you to take your body measurements. Whether you do P90X, Insanity, Slim in 6, running, or any fitness activity, measuring various parts of your body will help encourage you to keep going once you start seeing results! Taking an accurate set of body measurements every 30 days will help you track your progress.

Here’s what you need to get your body measurement:

  • Tape measure
  • Body fat calibers
  • Friend who can help!

It is important to be consistent with your measurements so you know your measurement is accurate. Measure your body in exactly the same places every 30 days, starting with day one. Start with your arms and work your way down.

Many of your favorite Team Beachbody fitness programs come with a measure tape. ChaLEAN Extreme includes calibers too!

Start measuring with the peak of the bicep (left and right). Strike a pose and make a muscle. The peak of your bicep is easy to find!

Take a proper chest measurement right across the nipple area. Make sure your arms are down at your sides.

Next you will measure your waist. Be sure to measure directly across your belly button. Don’t worry about your love handles, those are sure to disappear during your workout program!

Include the widest part of your buttocks when taking your hip measurement and make sure you legs are together.

Your thigh measurement should be taken halfway between your inseam and your knee. Make sure you do the left side and right side.

Don’t forget to measure your calves! Make sure your weight is evenly distributed and measure at the peak of your calves.

Once you complete your measurements, it’s time to find out your body fat percentage! You will need your body fat calibers. Then, to the side of your bellybutton and about 1 inch down pinch as much fat as you can with your fingers and then Squeeze it with the calibers until the arrows align. Look at the chart that came with your calibers for your body fat percentage.

Take these measurements every 30 days and write it down! You can keep track online at Team Beachbody or track it on your own!

Beachbody piracy p90xSounds tempting doesn’t it? Sure, you see a headline and want to buy Shaun T’s newest INSANITY workout for $84 with free shipping! The fact is that the Insanity DVDs that you’ve been tempted to purchase on various Web sites that have recently popped up, for $84, $99, and so forth,  originate from China (or right here in the US) and are complete frauds! Yes, friends, these are completely illegal.

When you purchase these illegal copies of Insanity or any Beachbody fitness program, you are participating in and supporting these illegal activities.

Beachbody works hard to produce high quality fitness programs that work. You’ve heard of their most popular programs like InsanityP90X, Slim in 6 and Hip Hop Abs. The success of these workouts and the legitimate sale of these products from the Beachbody, infomericals, and Team Beachbody Coaches, allow for repeat customers.

Because of this success, the Beachbody fitness DVDs have caught the attention of modern day pirates or thieves.
